Diamond painting is the most comfortable to do over a flat surface, but you take your kit out of the box and it just won’t lay flat. Read along to find out what you can do to get rid of creases on your canvas, and flatten it without damaging it.

Iron it.
It is as easy as it gets folks. An iron can be your savior but you will have to be very, very careful with it as an iron set on high heat will burn the canvas for sure.

PROTECTIVE PLASTIC THAT PEELS AND GOES AGAIN
One of the quickest methods to unfold the canvas is to peel off the adhesive layer in one corner and reapply by pressing with your hands. You will need to repeat this procedure of lifting the protective layer and re-pasting on all remaining sides. You will see that the canvas flattens very quickly. The biggest advantage is that the canvas will not only flatten, but some of the wrinkles will also be smoothed.

Laying it flat under heavy objects
When the first two tricks do not work, it’s time for some heavy lifting! Literally.

Another way is to pile heavy objects on top of your canvas to force it to flatten. A spread of books or your mattress would be the best. It has to apply even pressure all through the canvas.

Spray it.
With a wrinkle remover! Wrinkle removers are these absolute life-savers that magically smooth out wrinkles on fabrics. Now, this hack is only for the canvases made of fabric. Lay your canvas straight on a flat surface, pin all its four sides under heavy books and spray an even layer of wrinkle remover on your fabric canvas. Dab the excess spray with a clean cloth and let it sit for 30-40 minutes. The wrinkle remover will do its job and you will have a smooth, wrinkle-free canvas within an hour!
